Chairman Resigns

We regret to announce the resignation from the Management Committee of our Chairman, Richard Goodall. Over the last five years he has worked tirelessly to develop the efficiency of the financial, legal and administrative standing of the Association. We are grateful for his work and expertise on these areas.

The Vice Chairman, Howard Clarke, will take the chair for the time being

LLAA Plant Sale: Sunday 6 May 2012
Come along to our Plant Sale and find some great plants at bargain prices. There is usually a selection of Heritage varieties available. If you are a plot holder please plant a few extra seeds, or if you find you have surplus plants in May, please donate them to the sale.

NGS Open Day and LLAA Annual Show: Sunday 2 September, 11am – 5pm
The National Gardens Scheme Open Day will be the first Sunday in September, which includes our Annual Show. The allotment site will be open for the public to explore and many individual plots also welcome people to come and take a closer look.

We charge a £3 entry fee for the NGS Open Day and gate money goes to the NGS charities. Children are admitted free of charge.

New website: we’ve moved to WordPress!

Regular visitors might notice that the website has received a major overhaul! We have a fresh new look, but more importantly moving across to a WordPress-based site has added loads of functionality and after a trial period the new site is now live.

Keep an eye on this page for the latest upcoming events and committee news. Head over to the forum to see what people are chatting about and register to start posting your own topics and replies.

All the old content has been moved over and the site layout is mostly unchanged; however all the committee members can now write news items. We also need your help to make the forum as lively and welcoming as it is along the avenues! If you’re stuck, have a look at the help page.

September 2011 Competition and NGS Open Day

The 2011 NGS Open Day in September was very successful. £417.00 was raised for the NGS charities.

There was a great turnout for the produce competition. It was judged this year by Anne Liverman – a garden advisor for BBC Radio Derby.
